In 2001, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) gave an official definition of probiotics as "living microorganisms that, when ingested in sufficient amounts, have positive health effects, beyond the traditional nutritional effects."

For probioitics to be effective, it is very important that they go (alive) in large numbers into the intestine.  Their effectiveness results from the sum of several conditions:  their vitality, their resistence to acid ph of gastric and billiary secretions, their regular intake, at a minumum of 7 days per month, the choice of the right strain and that clinical studies had been performed in humans.  If these conditions are met, probiotics active in the intestinal flora will reach the colon and demonstrate their effectiveness.

The criteria of an effective microbiotic strain :

  • Known origin and precise identification of the microbiotic strains used.  Strains of human origin that naturally colonize our gut are preferable.
  • Strains submitted to studies having proven their safety and their good tolerance.
  • Survival of microbiotic strains during the product manufacturing process.  The choice of strains with good stability is important.  The industrial manufacturing process must preserve their integrity.

  • A quality product must be able to guarantee the stability of the microbiotic strains for over 2 years.
  • Sufficient resistance of microbiotic strains to stomach acids and bile salts so as to arrive alive at the place of action: the intestine.  The microbiotic strains of human origin are adapted to our digestive environment and will have better resistence.
  • Interaction capacity of microbiotic strains with the intestinal mucosa.  A good microbiotic strain must be able to adhere to the cells of the intestinal mucosa to enable an exchange of information.

Specificities of our microbiotic strains :

  • The bacteria used in our microbiotic strains are naturally present in human intestinal flora.
  • Naturally adapted and perfectly tolerated, HUMAN SPECIFIC microbiotic strains cling to the intestinal mucosa.  This allows colonization of the ENT sphere in 24 hours.
  • The microbiotic strains we use are resistant to stomach acid and bile.  They survive transit through the stomach and small intestine.
  • The microbiotic strains are cultures and are produced by the GMP laboratory (ISO 09 and ISO 22000 laboratory).
  • Our microbiotic strains are controlled and authorized by AFSCA, AFSSA and AESAN.
  • Our microbiotic strains are registered, notified and we guarantee total traceability of the origin of the strains used.
